An early tyrannosaur, Eotyrannus was a small, slender theropod with proportionally long legs and toes. Those long legs may have meant that the dinosaur was a fast runner as it tracked down prey such as Hypsilophodon and Iguanodon. The three-fingered, grasping hands were also among the longest hands of any non-avian theropods known to date. The only specimen, found on the Isle of Wight, was of a sub-adult. Therefore, Eotyrannus as an adult would have been larger. |
